Things I have learned

Things this sweet boy has taught me:

1.  Always check for pee before sitting on the toilet seat.

2.  If I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, turn on the light,  that way I won’t freak out when I grab a rubber snake instead of the commode handle!

3.  There is no point in not getting you a toy gun, because you can turn anything into a gun!

4.  There is no point in not getting you a toy sword, because you can turn almost anything into a sword!

5.  Those supposed “unbreakable”  plates, they actually can be broken.

6.  Even on your worst days you are an angel…while your sleeping.

7.   A hug from you can make me forget all my worries!

What Brought Me Home

Isn’t it funny how something as simple as a picture can invoke so many emotions and memories?  I saw this needlepoint and knew I had to bring it home.

It reminds me how important being home for my husband and children really is.  The wonderful memories and stories we are creating together.

My story as a stay at home mom began 5  years ago.   My daughter was almost 2, and I was working full time at a bank as an Assistant Vice President, in charge of Human Resources and Compliance.  I put in long hours and was totally stressed!  In December 2004, I found out I was pregnant.  At our second doctors appointment we discovered that I lost the baby.  I was miserable, work no longer seemed important, my daughter was growing up so fast, and our life was always in hurry up mode!   I no longer wanted my story to be about work!    God was calling me to rethink my priorities and stay home.  My husband and I talked about all the pros and cons.  A big con was the loss of a paycheck (1/2 to be exact).  We decided to trust God and I put in my notice.

The past five years we have created so many stories together, a new son, homeschooling, and precious time with family and friends.

What Stresses Me!

Not staying caught up with the housework causes me some stress, but my real stresser is LAUNDRY!

I need to learn to get over it because the laundry pile may go down but the next day, behold, there is even more laundry.  I try to do at least a load a day, but some days.....well, I just get lazy!  We are a relatively small family (4) so I can't imagine how large families keep the laundry pile down?  Guess I should be doing some laundry instead of blogging about it!
